Social implications of and biomass availability for an innovative lignocellulose biorefinery concept based on the acetone organosolv process – Public Report
UNRAVEL partner ‘Institut für Energie- und Umweltforschung’/IFEU have analysed the social risks and benefits of potential future biorefineries according to the UNRAVEL concept as well as social and environmental aspects of sustainable biomass availability based on three analyses: (i) a social life cycle assessment (sLCA) using the social hotspot database, (ii) an analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats covering further positive and negative social impacts as well as (iii) a complementary analysis on the availability of lignocellulosic biomass that is environmentally and socially sustainable.
